With all honesty, one of the best vocal coaches! Ms. Mouton, has not only given me knowledge and self confidence, but has made me the artist I always imagined to be. She made me push myself at every rehearsal and would not accept anything less than my best, and thanks to that, I discovered another side of my voice I never thought existed. She always made sure I was breathing correctly, holding my posture but most importantly always made sure I was having fun! I feel so blessed to have met such an amazing vocal coach and I wouldn't want it any other way! I always left class feeling more prepared & self confident than when I first walked in. Working with Mrs. Mouton (Or Mama Mouton as our band calls her) has honestly been a life altering experience. Her accolades as a vocal coach speak for themselves as she has taught me not only how to sing correctly, but she also caters her knowledge to my type of singing. Being that I am in a rock band, she focuses on how to improve not only the basics of singing, but the small things that will make me better at my specific craft. I just want to say the working with Lydia, aka "Momma Mouton", has been an amazing experience. It is with great admiration to comment of the exceptional talents of Mrs. Mouton. In view of the fact that she is an international vocalist and song writer this is an addition to her ability as an outstanding vocal coach. I have taken vocal lessons from several other vocal coaches but her methods of teaching enhance vocal exercise rhythm and style. Key lessons learned from her are that my vocal cords are an instrument and I have to learn to develop my vocal cords just like any other instrument. Example learning how to play a piano, guitar, drum, etc.... I have had the divine pleasure to be a student of Mrs. Mouton for about two years now and I must say she has changed my life! Not only has she sharpened my voice, she has also sharpened my spirit. I've been working with Ms. Mouton for almost 2 years. I want to start off by saying that Ms. Mouton is not your average vocal coach. She is way more than that. With so much passion, love, and a lot of professional expertise, Lydia Mouton has helped shape me into the vocalist that I am today. My name is Jonathan Mouton and yes, vocal coach momma Lydia Mouton is my mom; however, she is the first person that I credit in my life with helping me find my voice. Growing up with a mother who has sung background for the likes of Stevie Wonder, Jeffrey Osborne, and Marvin Gaye, truly has its benefits. At the young age of four, she heard me singing in my room after school and immediately began to train my voice and help me develop my musical ear. I can remember on multiple occasions, going to school and coming home to homework, a vocal lesson, and then dinner! Not to mention all the times when she allowed me to assist her with other clients as an young assistant- this only sharpened my sense of pitch and helped me develop my tone. For the past 22 years, my mom Lydia has been right that at my side for every vocal recital, school musical and still to this day is my coach as I travel across the globe working as a professional vocalist and performer.
